We were very happy that Jaclyn and Orcin chose Highley Manor for their wedding venue. We asked them a few questions about their day and this is what they said…..
How would you summarize your wedding?
Our wedding was held at the charming Highley Manor. Choosing a venue was not an easy task at first but having done our research online and narrowing down our choices, based on reviews, what they offer, our budget, and the accessibility, we finally decided to go and view Highley Manor.
The first minute we stepped on the place, we fell in love with it. I always believed in first impressions. The place is authentic. Going into the manor, we felt a good vibe and that’s when we decided, this is it!
What was the theme for your wedding?
We didn’t really have a particular theme but we just wanted a wedding that was simple and elegant. We chose a dusty blue and white/ivory motif because the wedding was going to be in springtime, therefore a pastel colour would have to be perfect to set the tone and reflect the season.
What cake did you have?
The cake flavour was white chocolate, strawberry, and thyme, and it was exquisitely made by Erin of Birch House Bakery. The design was carefully designed based on the elements of the wedding: the colour tone, the simple aesthetics and the elegance that exudes in the flavour.
What did you wear?
My dress was a David’s Bridal Collection, sheer back crepe wedding dress with lace train from David’s Bridal shop in Westfield, London.
The dress was inspired by simplicity and elegance, and the fact that I was happy, confident, and felt beautiful in the dress the first time I tried it was another inspiration.
I matched the dress with a silver cubic zirconia pearl drop earrings from Beaverbrooks.
The bridal shoes was a Badgley Mischka bethany bejeweled pump from Always the Bride online shop.
The groom wore a Moss Bros. blue slim-fit waistcoat, jacket suit and trousers.
The bridesman wore a Moss Bros. dusty blue herringbone suit, while the bridesmaid wore an A-line V-Neck Floor-Length Chiffon Prom dress from JJ House.
What was your best buy?
My best buy would be my bridal gown because it was really what I wanted in a gown, simple but elegant. It had fewer embellishments but with an understated elegance in it. In addition to that, I bought it on a sale price!
What flowers did you have in your bouquet?
I chose I Suggest Flowers as our bouquet designer. The bouquets were made of gypsophilas and white roses which has an elegance in it. However, the decorative flowers were designed by Lauren of Ambience West Sussex.
Who decorated the venue for you or did you do it yourself?
The venue was styled and decorated by Lauren of Ambience Wedding Styling. We were inspired by the elements of spring: the colours, the pretty blooms, and the blossoming florals, coupled with simplicity and elegance.

What was the best part of the day for you?
I actually loved everything about the wedding but the highlight was definitely the ceremony: the procession, the vows, the exchange of rings, and the recession. It was the most memorable part of the day.
What advice would you give to other couples?
I would say when it comes to saving tips, decide on your budget for the wedding and allocate them wisely and keep on top of it. My best advice is to do your own research as much as possible for suppliers and venues because then you can compare the prices and what comes in a package if it is.
