Steph and Ches’ wedding at Highley Manor was the perfect blend of romance, charm, and fairytale magic. After visiting countless venues in search of “the one,” they finally found their dream setting tucked away in the Sussex countryside. Their wedding day was everything they’d hoped for and more, set against the stunning backdrop of Highley Manor’s timeless elegance. Here’s what they had to say about their unforgettable day.
Highley Manor is a dream venue! Fit for that fairy tale dream. The moment we first viewed Highley Manor on a cold miserable January (while the venue was closed for renovations and looked a bit like a building site), we were automatically in love – being the last of 18 venues we looked at. The wedding day itself was more than I imagined. Not only are the building & grounds amazing but so were the staff.
Did you have a particular theme for your wedding?
Dusty blue and whites, no particular theme, but went for blue under the ‘something blue’ with pearls
What kind of cake did you have?
A friend has a small cake business, Kimmy Cakes. We had a 3-tier, white with pearls, each tier being a different flavour.
What did the bridal party wear?
Full, big princess fairytale dress with cathedral-length veil.
Blue bridesmaid dresses (my something blue).
Navy blue suits for the men.
Bride’s shoes – pearls and pearls in my hair to match the pearls on the cake.
What flowers did you have?
The flowers were by Kelly & Hicks Flowers
White and blue flowers, large roses for the Bride’s bouquet
We had flowers in various places throughout the venue: Flowers on the cake, flowers and ivy on the swing rope, flowers on the welcome sign and table plan, and on the staircase.
All other flowers were artificial, supplied by Mulberry Events.

What was the best part of your day?
Too hard to choose, but I think walking back up the aisle once married, being greeted with a Prosecco and walking off into the field with my husband – precious moment just the two of us.
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
To try and get the odd few moments where it’s just you and your husband without the photographer and anyone around.
Spend more time in the evening when it’s dark in the little secret garden.
And to go easy on the alcohol!!
